Opus 118 Harlem School of Music is a non-profit community music school committed to transforming the lives of Harlem's youth through quality music education. We serve over 700 kids through In-School, After-School, and our Community Programs Initiatives. Opus 118 was founded in 1991 by renowned violin teacher Roberta Guaspari and Ed Miller after budget cuts threatened to end Roberta's beloved music classes. Together with students, parents and world-class musicians such as Arnold Steinhardt and Isaac Stern, Roberta rallied to have her program reinstated. Since then, Opus 118 has not only thrived but has notably expanded its reach.
