The Service runs 15 fire stations across the six districts of Darlington, Derwentside, Durham Easington, Sedgefield, Wear and Tees. Crews of full-time and retained duty service (RDS or part-time) firefighters are trained to the highest standards to work towards our vision of: Safest people, safest places. As well as responding to emergencies (fire, flooding, road traffic collisions, animal rescue and missing persons searches) CDDFRS works in the community carrying out home fire safety checks and visits to schools to warn and inform people about potential dangers. The Service is committed to supporting and working with children and young people and runs thriving Young Firefighters' Association (YFA) groups at several stations in the region. County Durham and Darlington Fire Authority is responsible for the Service and regular meetings are held throughout the year.
