Blue School is a nonprofit independent school in Downtown New York City with a public purpose, designed to reimagine education. Age 2 through grade 8. To learn more, visit blueschool.org. 290 children age 2 through grade 8 are enrolled for 2017-18. Six artists founded Blue School in 2006 -- the three original members of Blue Man Group, Matt Goldman, Chris Wink, and Phil Stanton with photographer and sculptor Renee Rolleri, painter and graphic designer Jen Wink, and dancer Jennifer Stanton. In September 2011, Blue School moved to its permanent home at 241 Water Street in Lower Manhattan. Gina Farrar, Head of School, leads a team of 50 faculty members and 25 administrators. Leaders from the fields of education, psychology, design and neuroscience such as Sam Chaltain, Pamela J. Clarke, Lawrence J. Cohen, John Maeda, Steve Nelson, Sir Ken Robinson, David Rockwell, Dr. Dan Siegel, and Jeffrey C. Walker serve on Blue School’s Advisory Board and partner with the school to turn its vision into reality.
