Fifty years since developing the idea of an extra strong light fitting, we have built a reputation for robust products engineered to stand the test of time. Our fundamental philosophy of incorporating removable gear trays has allowed our customers to easily adopt upgrades in technology, thereby ensuring a more sustainable approach to illuminating transport, social housing, custodial, urban and secure healthcare applications. Our commitment to sustainability has resulted in a wholesale change in our manufacturing processes. Soon after becoming part of the Fagerhult group in 2011, an early decision was made to build a highly efficient lean manufacturing facility based on cutting edge sustainable practices. Opened in August 2014 our purpose-built 70,000 square foot head office was awarded the BREEAM excellent rating, the recognised benchmark for environmental building assessment. Our premises were one of the first manufacturing facilities to achieve this accreditation in the UK. Our new facility has also enabled us to increase our production capacity and further reduce lead times. We continue to focus on developing lighting solutions with market leading performance, all aligned to our core philosophy of energy reduction and sustainability. Recent solutions include QuadEvo, a robust LED only bulkhead offering best in class light output and the opportunity to reduce energy consumption by up to 60% when compared with traditional fittings. Whereas our LED light boxes developed for Canary Wharf Cross Rail station have a design life of 30 years and produce an output of over 6,000 lumens, whilst consuming the energy of a household lamp! We remain passionately committed to developing lighting solutions which are sustainable, energy efficient and designed to last.
