The British Damage Management Association (BDMA) is the certifying body for the damage management industry. The BDMA is committed to collaboration and transparency in raising industry standards and offers training, education, technical support, professional accreditation and represents members' interests in the public, industry and commercial domains. In furthering these objectives the Association works in partnership with a number of leading bodies across the wider insurance industry, including the ABI (Association of British Insurers) and the CILA (Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters), contributing to a number of insurance led think tanks, focus groups and wider research initiatives.. A training and examination programme for damage management practitioners, insurers and loss adjusters, and related sectors, leading to professional accreditation, enables transparency and greater understanding of the benefits of professional damage management. This allows the insurance industry and others to identify competent practitioners and recognise best practice solutions that reduce claims costs, carbon emissions and indemnity spend whilst at the same time improving the customer experience.
