The Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology is an internationally recognized public and scientific institution dedicated to the collection, preservation, protection, presentation, and interpretation of palaeontological history, with special reference to Alberta's rich fossil heritage. We are Canada's only museum devoted exclusively to palaeontology—the study of plant and animal life based on the fossil record. We are situated in the rugged Canadian Badlands, which offers some of the richest deposits of dinosaur fossils in the world, and have become a global leader for innovative public education programs, engaging exhibits, and ongoing devotion to the science of palaeontology.
