Every year throughout Long Island, NY, AHRC Suffolk provides opportunities to more than 2,500 individuals with intellectual and other developmental disabilities and their families. The organization offers a wide array of programs, services and supports which include early intervention, preschool and educational services, adult and senior citizen day programs, community residences, respite services, Medicaid service coordination and on and off premises employment opportunities. From birth to end of life, AHRC's staff develops person-centered plans based on each individual's specific needs. For parents/relatives/caregivers of the individuals that we serve, support services such as guardianship, respite and educational workshops are offered. AHRC Suffolk is governed by a Board of Directors, two-thirds of whom must be relatives of persons with developmental disabilities, working together with a team of dedicated professionals.
