The YWCA of Northwest Georgia, established in 1917, is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. Serving Cobb, Bartow, Cherokee, and Paulding counties, the organization provides programs and services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, including a 24-hour a day hotline for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, answering over 300 calls a month. The YWCA operates the only domestic violence shelter in Cobb County, and provides hospital accompaniment volunteers and staff for victims of sexual assault in Cobb, Cherokee and Paulding counties.
