Future Radio was one of the first community stations in the country to be awarded a five year full time community broadcast license in 2005. Since then, the station has grown and developed, winning awards and acclaim along the way for the varied, interesting and high quality output. Future Radio is part of Future Projects, a registered charity located in the West of Norwich; an area marked by significant disadvantage in learning, skills, employment, health and crime indicators. Future Radio operates within the strategic framework of Future Projects. This means that the station exists to support the mission and vision of the wider charity in its own way, as follows: Mission: To provide a diverse, accessible, and engaging community radio service which educates and supports the local and wider community, provides high quality output and promotes community development and cohesion. Vision: Our vision is that of a community which has equality of opportunity and the education, skills and confidence to overcome its social or economic disadvantages and contribute fully to society. We have 42,000 listeners per month and cover a great range of topics, music specialist shows and programmes dedicates to the young people.
