The Ministry of the Attorney General works to deliver fair, equitable and accessible justice services to the people of Ontario. Its role includes: - supporting other government ministries by providing legal advice, conducting litigation and drafting legislation; - conducting criminal proceedings and administering court services throughout Ontario; - administering approximately 140 statutes. The ministry is also responsible for the Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee, the Children's Lawyer, the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) and a range of justice-related agencies and tribunals.
