Joseph Holt Ltd is an independent regional family brewer, founded in 1849. It has remained in the family for six generations; brewing at their Brewery in Manchester, just north of the city centre since 1860. The company operates 128 pubs in Manchester and the North West, where they focus on serving exceptional cask beers and lagers, hearty pub food classics and a range of world class wines and spirits. Furthermore, Joseph Holt supply their award winning beers and lagers to over 500 venues nationwide. The company has a long standing relationship with the Christie Hospital and the Holt Radium Institute in Manchester. This dates back to Sir Edward Holt, the great Grandfather of the current Chief Executive who founded the Holt Radium Institute in 1914. In 2016, Joseph Holt were incredibly proud to win the British Beer and Pub Association's Heart of the Community award for the second time, this was after a campaign to raise £402,000 for the Christie. Over the years, the family brewer has achieved many accolades for their beers. Most notably, the brewery is one of only a handful of breweries to have recently won 4 gold awards consecutively at the prestigious International Brewing Awards for their Crystal and Diamond lagers and for Black, their keg beer. Other products in the Joseph Holt portfolio include Bitter, Humdinger, Sixex, Two Hoots, Maple Moon, Smooth, Mild and Hat Trick. Although ever expanding and not afraid to try something new, in the entire history of Holt's Brewery, it has never changed its most successful formula – a quality pint at an affordable price.
