Dixon Place has been an alternative arts space in since 1986. For 25 years Dixon Place has provided a supportive environment dedicated to addressing the needs and interests of diverse artists and audiences. Dixon offers writers and performing artists the opportunity to present their work in a supportive and non-homophobic atmosphere in which cultural, personal, and social issues may be explored and addressed. Originally located on the Bowery, Dixon Place has moved one block east, to a newly constructed 120-seat theatre with a cabaret lounge on Chrystie Street.
