Compassion Identity is an awareness--when we are reflective and open--that our bliss and woundedness allow us to be heroic witnesses to life. Compassion Identity is the source of our capacity to heal not just ourselves but others. Healing flows not from a position of control or dominance but rather from relationship and mutuality. Compassion Identity was founded in 2013 by Vince Corso to be a platform to provide counseling, psychotherapy and consultation services to individuals, corporations and communities coping with death, loss and other forms of transition. Vince is in private practice in northern New Jersey and New York City and also provides supportive counseling to brave 'first responders' who now are enduring terminal illness as a result of exposure to the aftermath of September 11th. Vince holds master's degrees in both Divinity and Social Work and has worked in the hospice arena since 1996. From 1998 to 2016, he was Manager of Spiritual Care and Bereavement Services for VNSNY Hospice and Palliative Care Program. He offered clinical supervision to the Chaplains, Bereavement Staff and Volunteers and was responsible for the creation of a robust bereavement program serving the needs of countless New Yorkers. He has presented on grief, loss, spirituality and self-care throughout the country to a wide audience including universities, hospice associations and faith communities and has offered after-care presentations for many funeral homes. Vince is also a married catholic priest, offering marriage counseling, ceremony preparation and celebration for couples in the Metropolitan NYC area. Vince, his wife Christine and two children, reside in Essex County, NJ.
