Special Products Limited (SPL) was founded in 1997 by Dr. Graham March MRPharmS, who worked within a world renowned NHS hospital specialising in the treatment of children. Whilst working at the hospital, Dr. March recognised that there were small groups of patients for whom existing medicinal products were not suitable. SPL developed and launched a number of innovative products, several of which continue to be recognised as the standard within their class of products. Today, SPL sources and supplies over 75 high quality, UK batch manufactured unlicensed medicines for patients with special clinical requirements that licensed medicines cannot meet. Although not restricted to any particular disease area or patient group, SPL is well represented in the therapeutic areas of Central Nervous System medicine and Inborn Errors of Metabolism and the neonatal and paediatric patient groups. SPL's high quality batch manufactured unlicensed medicines are delivered with Certificates of Analysis, supported by stability data and backed by validated and extended shelf lives. Datasheets are supplied on a request basis to healthcare professionals and, via the company's medical information service, all enquiries are dealt in a professional and timely manner. In addition, a number of SPL's products are supplied with secondary packaging which includes a carton, label and a patient information leaflet.
