Penn-Mar is a non-profit organization that supports individuals with disabilities in northern Maryland, as well as southern Pennsylvania. Our mission is to provide support services in our communities which promote value, independence, and self-determination, to families and individuals with disabilities or human service needs. Penn-Mar was founded in the early 1980's by a small group of family members concerned the future of their sons and daughters with developmental disabilities. Today, Penn-Mar serves more than 350 individuals with developmental disabilities with a range of educational, vocational and residential programs. The services provided by Penn-Mar Human Services include: residential options, vocational training, supported employment, individual support services, transportation, as well as social services for people in need in southern York County . Penn-Mar Human Services is reviewed and licensed annually in Maryland and Pennsylvania. We exceed the standards for quality set by both state governments. Penn-Mar exists to encourage individuals to reach their full potential and to live their dreams.
