Claridge Architects is a London-based practice and was established in 2004 by Marcus Claridge. The practice's design approach is architecturally rigorous and responsive to the needs of their clients and the users of their buildings. Projects are kept architecturally simple and ordered, to create an end result that is design-led, elegant and functional. The practice has a breadth of experience in the private and public sector, with expertise in the design and construction of commercial, residential development, luxury houses, hospitality, education, community, cultural and urban planning projects. Each project is approached with a clear understanding of the client's ambitions and the site context. This approach creates greater potential, purpose and value through innovative design responses and pragmatic construction techniques. The practice is currently involved in a wide range of projects throughout London and the UK from high-end private residential work to large mixed-use and commercial developments. Recent completed projects includes Parkgate House, Philpot Lane and Wood Norton Hotel. In 2009 and 2011 the practice received a Wandsworth Design Award for their work on Thomas's School. And in 2013 the practice received a Wandsworth Design Award for Parkgate House, a conversion of an old Victorian bakery into apartments.
