The Maria Montessori Institute (MMI) is a registered charity which was founded by Mario Montessori (son of Maria Montessori) and exists to promote the authentic educational approach first developed by Maria Montessori. We are affiliated to the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI). The MMI is committed to providing authentic Montessori training and schools and supporting Montessori inspired projects to support the full development of all children. This is achieved by providing: 1) AMI Montessori teacher training for age levels 0-3 years, 3-6 years and 6-12 years 2) A school located at several sites serving children from 2 to 12 years 3) Short courses and workshops aimed at parents and anyone interested in supporting the lives of children 4) Promotion and support of outreach projects underpinned by Montessori principles Our training staff are all AMI Diploma holders who have at least 5 years' experience working in Montessori environments. Our trainers have also qualified through the AMI Training of Trainers Programme requiring at least a further 3 years of intensive study. Our school staff are all AMI Diploma holders having qualified with the Maria Montessori Institute or at another AMI Affiliated Training Centre.
