The Greater New York Councils (GNYC) Boy Scouts of America (BSA) serves New York‘s five boroughs. GNYC has helped over five million young men and women become "Prepared for Life" since its' inception in the 1920's. Throughout New York City there are more than 46,000 Scouts and Explorers, 4,200 active volunteer leaders and 800 Scouting community partners. Programs foster healthy lifestyles, community service, environmental stewardship, workforce preparedness, leadership development and STEM education. Our mission is to serve society by helping to instill values in young people and, in other ways to prepare them to make ethical choices during their lifetime and to achieve their full potential. In partnership with our generous supporters, we work to ensure that vitally needed development opportunities and experiences are available to all youth, regardless of income.
