A 501-C non-profit dedicated to improving the quality of life for those living with Alzheimer's disease & related dementia, and their caregivers. Based in Port Washington, the Long Island Alzheimer's Foundation provides programs and services focused on enhancing the social, psychological & cognitive wellness of individuals diagnosed with cognitive & memory disorders, and support for their family members as they navigate the challenges of living with Alzheimer's. Services include social model day programs for all stages, group support programs for well spouses & adult children, respite services, brain fitness programs, & Creative Arts programs. New programs include a pro-active 'Brain Fitness' program designed for individuals who are cognitively well (not diagnosed with any cognitive disorder) and who want to maintain their mental sharpness.
