The Desk-Net GmbH provides the leading editorial management software of the same name. Desk-Net is a cloud-based software that enables newsrooms and communications departments to significantly streamline their operations. The main processes covered are story planning, the management of editorial appointments and staff coordination: Desk-Net works in conjunction with established editorial systems or content management systems. In early 2007 we launched the beta version of our editorial calendar software Desk-Net at our pilot customer Frankfurter Rundschau in Germany. During the following months and years we gradually optimised Desk-Net and steadily grew our customer base. Our growth has significantly increased in recent years as more and more media companies realize the importance of proper editorial management. Today Desk-Net is being used by thousands of journalists in hundreds of newsrooms and communications departments. Our customer base ranges from traditional local, regional and national publishers to pure online portals, specialty publishers and communications departments. A team of software developers continuously works on improving the software. We release a new version of Desk-Net about every six weeks. Desk-Net GmbH was founded by Matthias Kretschmer. Prior to founding the company Matthias worked as a strategy and process consultant for publishing customers and as an online project manager for customers such as Siemens and Nokia.
