Formed in 1923, Esher Rugby is Surrey's most successful rugby club. The 1st XV currently plays semi-professional rugby in National League 1. The club also supports a further 5 senior competitive and social sides, womens rugby plus youth rugby for boys and girls, aged 6 to 18. Esher Rugby boasts a growing membership in excess of 1,000 and the clubhouse is situated within 23 acres of freehold land with excellent amenities for players, spectators and corporate guests, dining facilities for up to 200, and a grand stand capacity for 1,800 supporters. The club is led by a formidable management team which includes Chairman of Rugby and television Sports Presenter, John Inverdale. Through John's connections Esher host a number of events throughout the season boasting high profile guest speakers from the Sports Industry. These events both cater to the client hospitality needs of sponsors as well as the enjoyment for members and indeed all rugby fans who come to hear of the events. Throughout the club, Esher's ideals reflect the RFU's core values of Rugby, Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship. And recent market research has overwhelmingly shown that the club comes across as being warm and friendly, providing good quality rugby for all. Whilst we are ambitious, we also have a strong family ethos, derived from a commitment to youth rugby for all age groups both in the club directly and at local schools. Furthermore, the club continues to develop strong links with local charities. With membership and crowd attendances rising, we have ambitious plans to develop the infrastructure at the club, to include stadia enhancements. This will allow Esher Rugby to firstly become a more integral part of the local community and also a destination venue providing sports and leisure facilities to a much wider audience. All this is underwritten by a diverse sponsor base, at a variety of different levels, which aids the club's financial stability.
