About 50% more women leave us with the peace of mind and on-going protection of longer acting, more reliable methods of contraception than other community NHS contraception services. We offer sexual health checks, and advice or counselling services through our 24 hour helpline making us a truly integrated service, available day or night, every day of the year whenever our clients need us. In 1976, our founder, visionary doctor Tim Black, stepped in to save the Marie Stopes Clinic in central London from which our clinic network grew, and our mission has always been children by choice, not chance. We now work in almost 40 countries around the world providing life-saving services to millions of women in greatest need. It's thanks to the generosity of donors and funders who believe in what we do, that we were able to prevent 14,300 maternal deaths last year, and provide contraception for 15.6 million women.
