Oakley has a uniquely entrepreneurial approach stemming from its foundations. Founded by Peter Dubens and David Till in 2002, Oakley seeks to invest in companies which are owned by families, founders or entrepreneurial managers, who are attracted by our empathetic approach. The long-term relationships we build with talented founders and managers, helps to cultivate our pipeline of interesting opportunities that are not always accessible through traditional routes. In Fund II and III, there has been significant amounts of capital committed by the portfolio entrepreneurs and management teams that Oakley has worked with, reinforcing the collaboration between the firm and its entrepreneurial network. Since 2002, Oakley has built expertise in three core sectors: TMT, Digital Consumer and Education, and has strong credentials and networks in these areas. We are comfortable with complexity, having invested in businesses that other private equity firms may regard too challenging to undertake. By investing in a diverse range of portfolio companies, Oakley's objective is to work proactively with management teams, together with other stakeholders, to create substantial value for the Funds' investors. Today, Oakley Capital comprises three mid-market private equity funds with over €1.5 billion of commitments, investing primarily in Western Europe. Following the success of its predecessor funds, Fund III closed in September 2017 at €800m. Fund I (2007) and Fund II (2013) remain top performers for their vintages. The Funds have a strong investor base with high quality institutional and private individuals participating alongside the Funds' largest investor, Oakley Capital Investments Limited (OCI). This AIM listed company provides the opportunity for stock market investors to participate in the diversified portfolio of the Oakley Capital Funds.
