'Quite simply the best steak I have ever eaten in this country.'​ The Observer When we started out we had a simple plan - to open the best steak restaurant in London. We travelled the world, from steakhouse to steakhouse, searching for the perfect steak, but discovered that beef from carefully reared cattle right here in Britain and cooked simply over real charcoal, packed more flavour than anything we tried on our travels. We opened our first restaurant in Spitalfields in 2006, and after four years of trying to get that one as good as possible we've opened in Seven Dials, Guildhall, Air Street, Knightsbridge and Borough as well our first restaurant outside of London – Hawksmoor Manchester. We've also opened Foxlow restaurants in Clerkenwell, Balham and Chiswick. In an industry where short-term employment is depressingly commonplace, we try as hard as possible to create jobs that people enjoy and be a company where they can settle down and build a career. It seems to be working – people tend to stay with us for a really long time. We're sure the decent money helps, but we think there's a lot more to creating great jobs than just paying well. We're always on the lookout for talented, passionate people to join us. It won't be an easy job – or an easy company to get a job with – but everyone is well rewarded, receives a huge amount of training and is given the chance to forge a career at the right pace.
