TimberWest is strongly incented to manage its private forest lands with care because we are in it for the long term. That means investment and innovation in the lands through the full cycle of stand management, harvesting and reforestation. Our definition of sustainable forest management includes consideration for our local communities, and stewardship that maintains biodiversity, productivity, and capacity to regenerate, now and in the future. Committed to communities. At TimberWest we are committed to Vancouver Island communities. The Company annually provides 1000 direct and 2000 indirect jobs to people who live and work on Vancouver Island. TimberWest actively seeks new, higher value log markets. Sales to Asia have been critical to TimberWest's ability to continue to operate profitably and employ local workers. TimberWest also pursues new investment opportunities, like alternative energy projects, which are positive contributions to local employment and economic diversification.
