East Manatee Fire Rescue District provides fire suppression and emergency services to approximately 50,000 residents, 20,000 homes, and over 1900 businesses within the fire district. The Florida Legislature formed the East Manatee Fire Rescue District to protect the growing eastern area of Manatee County including a large portion of the Lakewood Ranch area. East Manatee Fire Rescue District is comprised of approximately 100 square miles and included are some of Florida's fastest-growing geographical areas, consisting of one-half suburban area and the other half agriculture and forest land. East Manatee Fire Rescue District provides six fire stations staffed around the clock with six fire engines, one engine/tanker, and one engine/ladder.
