Since 1992, the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade has been working to improve breast cancer outcomes and reduce disparities in survival rates. The Crusade's strategic grant making reflects: a holistic and place-based approach in high-need areas throughout the United States; a commitment to enabling access to medical advances and support services for breast cancer patients, particularly those from vulnerable populations; and a commitment to investing in research on the prevention, diagnostics, and treatment of breast cancer. In the U.S., the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade manages the Avon Foundation for Women's breast cancer programs. Since its launch in 2003, the AVON 39 series has raised nearly $620 million through the dedication of more than 235,000 participating women and men from across the country, including Avon Associates and Representatives. AVON 39 takes place in seven cities, covering 39.3 breast cancer-crushing miles in two days, and raises significant awareness and funds to fight breast cancer. The AVON 39 series is the largest fund-raising event for the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade.
