Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools is a publicly funded school Division with an elected Board of Trustees and governed by the Alberta Education Act. Our schools welcome children of all faiths who desire a Catholic education. In the 2016-2017 school year, we are serving over 9,500 students in 19 schools including an online school and an outreach school. We also serve approximately 600 students in a home education program. Our schools are located in Red Deer, Sylvan Lake, Rocky Mountain House, Innisfail and Olds. Two new schools are scheduled to open in September 2017: St. Gregory the Great Catholic School, a Pre-K to Grade 9 school in Blackfalds and St. Joseph High School in the North-East quadrant of Red Deer. Our staff community is made up of approximately 507 teachers and 446 support staff including administration, transportation and maintenance. The Division operates a yearly budget of approximately $84 million.
