Workshop Houston has provided a hands-on after school program for youth in Houston's Third Ward area for over a decade, all at no cost to the community. Our mission is to provide support, expanded opportunities and alternative definitions of success to at-risk Middle and High School students. These resources assist in opening their eyes to the transformative power that education, creativity and technical skill can have in their lives. Our nationally-recognized program is delivered via four unique studio/classrooms – Dance Shop (dance/performance art), Beat Shop (music production), Style Shop (fashion/graphic design) and the Scholar Shop (tutoring/academic enrichment) – and was recognized by First Lady Michelle Obama after earning the National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award.
