Retroscreen Virology was renamed hVIVO in April 2015. As well as this site, we have now created a new Linked-In site (as well as other social media) for hVIVO. https://www.linkedin.com/company/hvivo. hVIVO (formerly Retroscreen Virology) is a rapidly growing UK life sciences company pioneering a technology platform which uses human challenge models of disease involving healthy volunteers to study new drugs and investigate disease in a safe, controlled, clinical environment. Retroscreen has established itself as the world leader in this field through the provision of clinical research services to third party study sponsors. To date, we have conducted 40 clinical studies, involving more than 85 separate quarantines and more than 1950 volunteers for a range of leading industry, governmental and academic clients. The platform has a much wider application in helping to better understand illness because our belief is that the best way to understand human disease is by studying it in humans, not laboratory models. The team at hVIVO are committed to creating the next generation of drugs and vaccines for a number of respiratory diseases and in exploring other disease areas with unmet medical needs such as asthma and COPD, developing new human challenge models to address these too. As well as the significant contribution made by healthy volunteers, these developments will mean working with patient volunteers who suffer with a specific illness or disease that we are targeting for further exploration and much greater in-depth understanding.
