The survey office 'Mund + Bruns' was founded in 1990 as an equally associated partnership by the officially appointed and sworn marine & cargo surveyors Captain Michael W. Bruns and Captain H. Peter Mund. After successfully completing a degree in nautical sciences both took advantage of their long term experience in deep sea navigation. Both partners decided to carry on their careers ashore as officially appointed and sworn marine & cargo surveyors within the economic domain of transportation, shipping and insurance. Within a short period of time the small survey office expanded rapidly. For this reason additional personnel was employed. After several years of employment, Mr. Christoph Bruns. joined in 2004 the management board as an partner. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Bremen officially appointed and inaugurated Mr. Christoph Bruns in 2005 as surveyor for steel and steel products. In the meantime the number of permanent employees, trainees and freelancers has increased. In 2006 Captain Dirk Luedersen joined the management board as partner after several years of employment. At the turn of the year 2007 / 2008 both founders, Captain Michael W. Bruns and Captain H. Peter Mund, retired from their successful working life. Effective from 01.01.2008 the survey office 'Mund + Bruns' continued as an equally associated partnership by the partners Mr. Christoph Bruns (BBA) and Captain Dirk Luedersen. Effective from 01.01.2009 the form of company has been modified to a limited liability company (GmbH).
