Yukon College is a community college with 13 campuses located in 11 Yukon locations. The main campus, Ayamdigut, is located in Whitehorse. The College has over 1,000 students in credit programming and 9,500 registrations in continuing education, across all campuses.
Yukon College is also home to the Yukon Research Centre, which hosts a number of programs and services, with the common goal of developing collaborative research, innovation and outreach that meet the needs of northerners.
Recently the Centre for Northern Innovation in Mining at Yukon College was announced by Prime Minister Harper and territorial Premier Pasloski. This Centre will provide programming and research related to mining, delivered through an expanded trades facility in Whitehorse, as well as the mobile trades training trailer used in the communities.
Yukon College offers over fifty accredited programs - degrees, certificates and diplomas. The six degrees are delivered in partnership with other universities. Partners include: University of Alberta, University of Alaska - Southeast, University of Northern BC, and University of Regina. In 2009 the College received degree granting status, however it does not yet offer any of its own degrees.
