Motherwell FC is Scotland's biggest fan-owned football club. Based the old industrial Lanarkshire 'steel town' in the heart of central Scotland, Motherwell have been a Scottish football institution for over 130 years. The club has won every major domestic honour including the Scottish League Championship (1931/32), the Scottish Cup (1952, 1991) and the Scottish League Cup (1950). The club has also competed in three different European competitions, the UEFA Cup Winners Cup, the UEFA Cup / Europa League and the UEFA Champions League, spanning thirteen separate ties (26 matches) facing teams such as Borussia Dortmund, Steaua Bucharest, Odense BK, Panathinaikos and Levante U.D. The business continues to battle hard in a competitive and challenging environment with a top-six finish in seven of the last ten years. The club is also enjoying its longest single spell in the top flight since World War II - 30+ consecutive years in Scotland's elite division.
