The MLU is a specialist organisation formed to represent and assist locums in every possible way. Supported by the leading law firm Mishcon De Reya, we have engaged with every NHS Trust in the UK on behalf of our members to assist with ongoing IR35 issues. Since 2015, NHS Improvement have embarked on an agenda to reduce locum pay to the same level of substantive NHS employees. Supported by in depth research, the MLU believes there is a vast difference between the two roles and several logical arguments as to why this will actually damage the NHS and risk patient safety. The MLU has combined the objectives and membership of the Locum Doctors Union and Medical Locum Association to create a more encompassing body for all temporary medical professionals. With far greater resources, connections and experience at our disposal we can now offer our members access to the best and most professional services and support.
