About First City Training First City Training was first established in January 2004, initially as an internal training department to support our sister companies, First City Nursing Services and Ashgrove House Nursing Home. The department grew and internal training excelled. It soon became apparent that First City Training should expand and become an NVQ Centre. In November 2005 we received centre accreditation from City and Guilds to offer NVQs in Adult and Childcare Awards. The centre uses an electronic approach to assessment via a secure web based system for all qualifications. This system allows greater learner flexibility for providing evidence for their award according to their individual learning requirements. This system has proved to be very efficient and popular with learners, increasing learner achievements and learner confidence. We are proud owners of the following awards: â€¢ Best In House Training Provider/Assessment Centre at the National Skills for Care Awards â€¢Runner up in the Best Training Provider category at the Learning & Development Awards 2010 â€¢Best Recruitment Initiative Award at the Wiltshire Adult Social Care Awards 2013, hosted by Wiltshire Council Speak to our experienced group about training today.
