The Rhodes School is a fine arts, magnet charter school that prepares students for lifelong success by providing a classical, arts based instructional program that is rigorous, relevant, and which consistently meets or exceeds state and national standards. The Rhodes School is a Title I school. 80% of TRS students are low income, 96% are minority, and more than 35% are at-risk for academic failure. The overwhelming majority of TRS families reside within the communities of Channelview, Sheldon, North Forest, and Barrett-Station- all of which are targeted areas in need of special assistance to address systemic blight, poverty, juvenile delinquency, and illiteracy. Despite these odds, 2014 has been a monumental year for The Rhodes School. Not only are we the FIRST charter school in the country to receive designation as a Magnet School by the U.S. Department of Education but as of 2014, TRS was awarded 4 out of 6 possible distinctions making us a 4 Star School of Distinction. We also rank first in our Campus Comparison Group for student progress!  The Rhodes School is committed to producing critical thinkers with the character to lead.
