The Rapid Learning Institute's mission is to transform learning at organizations by helping managers become skilled talent developers. Most managers have strong technical competency but struggle with knowledge transfer; that is, getting results through other people by replicating the knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviors that made them successful. Managers are directly accountable for training, but people development is out of their comfort zone, so they push it down their priority list and it either doesn't get done or gets done ineffectively. This skill deficit is THE core talent development challenge at most organizations. The RLI's solution is 'chunked learning,'​ breaking training into small, manageable bits. Chunked learning allows managers to reframe their talent development role. Teaching narrow concepts seems doable. Training gets done. Knowledge transfer happens.
