The University of North Georgia is a member of the University System of Georgia. Created through the 2013 consolidation of North Georgia College & State University and Gainesville State College, the university's enrollment is about 15,000 students. UNG has campuses in Cumming, Dahlonega, Gainesville, and Oconee County.
One of only six senior military colleges in the United States, the university is designated by the Georgia General Assembly as the Military College of Georgia and the University System of Georgia as a state leadership institution.
