Queen Alexandra College (QAC) is a leading national specialist residential college for people with disabilities aged 16 and above. We offer a variety of courses for young people aged 16-25 years as well as employment focussed and supported living programmes. At QAC learning is planned around individual needs, interests and ambitions. Our courses, ranging from Entry Level to Level 3, are tailored to suit all levels of ability and are delivered in a safe and friendly environment. In line with our mission statement, the college provides a holistic environment where its learners can thrive both academically and socially, enabling them to develop confidence, skills and independence while obtain a range of qualifications. With a history stretching over 160 years, QAC was the educational arm of Birmingham Royal Institution for the Blind (BRIB) and became an independent charity in 1997. As a charitable body the success of our endeavours is dependent on the support of staff, volunteers, friends and families. We run several successful businesses that offer students the opportunity to gain valuable work experience in a familiar environment. All profits are paid back into the charity and help to enhance the QAC experience for our students.
