The Winnipeg Film Group was founded in 1974 and is a charitable, artist-run organization dedicated to promoting the art of cinema. We have served as a resource for Manitoba filmmakers and video artists for 36 years, providing access to affordable training, mentorship, production funding, experimentation opportunities, production and post production equipment and facilities, and local, national and international programming and distribution. We have also operated the Winnipeg Cinematheque for 30 years. Cinematheque is an intimate movie theatre devoted to screening the very best in Canadian and world cinema. More than just screening films, we also provide artist talks, panel discussions and special events to feed the minds of cinema fans.
