The RNCM is not only a world-renowned Conservatoire but also a thriving Arts Centre with a Concert Hall to accommodate a full symphony orchestra, a Theatre and three other public performance venues, ensuring the RNCM delivers unrivalled performance opportunities for its students, and an exciting and diverse music programme for communities across the North West of England.
The accord of College and Arts Centre is unique amongst Conservatoires and affords RNCM students the opportunity to work with some of the most respected performers and conductors in the music industry. The College also stages concerts and shows by an eclectic mix of professional musicians and performers, and in 2012 was acknowledged as the seventh busiest venue in the UK by the Performing Rights Society.
The RNCM hosts over 400 performances each year, and in addition to student orchestras and ensembles, presents a wide-ranging artistic programme spanning historic opera of the 1600s, symphonic repertoire, chamber music, Big Band, New Music and the indie-rock of Tim Burgess and Alt-J.
But it is the musical and academic excellence at the heart of the RNCM that really defines the College. Inspirational teaching from world-class musicians is supported by an unrivalled performance offer.
