BMW UK Manufacturing is composed of three sites: MINI Plant Oxford - which celebrated 100 years of car-making in 2013 and remains at the heart of the MINI manufacturing network. It is one of the most modern and technically-advanced car plants in the world. BMW Group Plant, Hams Hall - the BMW Group's centre of competence for production of four cylinder petrol engines for both BMW and MINI brand vehicles, including engines for the new BMW i8 hybrid plug-in sports car. BMW Group Plant Swindon - which produces high-quality steel and aluminium pressings and complex sub-assemblies. About 90 per cent of the pressings and almost 80 per cent of the sub-assemblies, such as doors, bonnets and tailgates for MINI are made in Swindon. All three form part of the BMW Group; one of the world's leading car and motorcycle manufacturers with more than 100,000 employees in over 100 countries.
