Robert Wiseman Dairies was founded in East Kilbride near Glasgow in 1947. Now the Company procures, processes and distributes more than one in four litres of fresh milk consumed in Britain every day. Wiseman employs over 4700 people and operates 6 major processing dairies in Aberdeen, East Kilbride, Glasgow, Manchester, Droitwich Spa and Bridgwater It has 14 distribution centres from Pensilva in Cornwall to Keith in the North East of Scotland. The Company's latest dairy at Bridgwater in Somerset – a £100 million investment - is known as 'Britain's Green and White Dairy'. Featuring advanced technology and systems which are designed to minimise the use of energy, water, packaging and oil, Bridgwater is widely acknowledged to be the most environmentally advanced dairy in the world. Robert Wiseman Dairies has located all of its dairies as close as possible to where dairy farms are located but on arterial routes and distribution centres close to population centres. This helps to the cost and environmental impact of hauling milk for long distances. Crucially, it also ensures that milk produced locally, can be processed and packed in the locality. Robert Wiseman Dairies (RWD.L) is listed on the London Stock Exchange. Further information is available at www.wiseman-dairies.co.uk
