Habitat for Humanity San Fernando/Santa Clarita Valleys is a separately incorporated affiliate of the international charitable organization Habitat for Humanity International. Serving North Los Angeles City and County, this Habitat affiliate builds affordable housing and provides life skills to families that enable them to become self-sufficient, productive members of the community. Company Mission: We strive to provide a decent, safe and affordable place to live for every man, woman and child in the San Fernando Santa Clarita and Antelope Valleys. We further promote education and self-sufficiency by connecting our recipients to social services. This affiliate has created a unique "Enriched Neighborhood" model. Each family invests 500 hours of sweat equity into their home and participates in educational programs including classes in money management, resume workshops, tutoring, and Fire Department Emergency Response Certification. Free health and dental screenings, are also provided for families, along with nutrition education. Families living in veteran-specific "Veterans Build" communities also receive services specific to military family needs including PTSD counseling, peer-to-peer dialogue workshops, healing art for trauma victims, and ensuring access to all entitled military benefits.
