Ofcom is the UK's communications regulator. We regulate the TV, radio and on-demand sectors, fixed line telecoms, mobiles, postal services, plus the airwaves over which wireless devices operate, to make sure they're doing the best for all of us. Consumers and citizens are at the heart of everything we do, and we make sure that people in the UK get the best from their communications services and are protected from scams and sharp practices, while ensuring that competition can thrive. Accountable to Parliament, we are involved in advising and setting some of the more technical aspects of policy, implementing and enforcing the law. Independent of Government, our decisions and advice are not swayed by party politics, which allows us to act solely in the interest of citizens and consumers.
