Travel the Country. Earn Money for School. Change the World. In AmeriCorps NCCC, dedicated teams of young adults give back to communities across the country while developing their own skills as leaders. They travel the U.S. for 10 months, providing service and relief to communities in need. AmeriCorps NCCC is comprised of two distinct service tracks: traditional AmeriCorps NCCC and FEMA Corps. Our traditional AmeriCorps NCCC track is a rugged and demanding service experience designed to strengthen communities and build America's next generation of leaders. Teams complete direct, hands-on service projects like cleaning up after natural disasters, fighting wildfires, constructing homes, tutoring students, building trails in parks and forests, and more. They work in partnership with non-profits, local municipalities, state governments, federal government, national and state parks, Indian tribes, and schools. Our FEMA Corps track is an immersive professional experience supporting active FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) projects that strengthen our nation's capacity to prepare for and respond to disasters. Teams deliver disaster prevention response, and recovery services by providing administrative and logistical support. AmeriCorps NCCC teams are small groups comprised of 18-24 year-old Members under the direction of one Team Leader. All Team Leaders and Members are assigned to one of five regional campuses for initial trainings: Sacramento, CA; Denver, CO; Vinton, IA; Vicksburg, MS; or Baltimore, MD. After training, teams are deployed to multiple projects throughout the country over the course of their 10-month service term.
