Cambridgeshire and Peterborough CCG is one of the biggest CCGs in the country with 109 practices and 824 GPs. It replaced NHS Cambridgeshire and NHS Peterborough on 1 April 2013. There's a federation of eight local commissioning groups (LCGs) covering all GP practices in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, as well as three practices in North Hertfordshire and two in Northamptonshire. Cambridgeshire and Peterborough have a combined population of 831,000 (Census 2011), which has a diverse, ageing population with significant inequalities. It has has budget of £854 million.
