Brownie's Third Lung is a vertically integrated manufacturer with complete in-house resources and design capabilities to suit every recreational hookah diving need. Brownie's designs, assembles, tests and sells most of its equipment at our factory in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This involves everything from stitching gear bags to assembling air hoses for hookah systems. Over 35 years of experience Mr. Brown (Brownie) started Brownie's Third Lung (BTL) in 1969 because of his own personal desire to dive for tropical fish with as much freedom as possible. For the company's first 16 years, Brownie's Third Lung thrived as a garage industry, designing and building all of its products in-house. Robert Carmichael, Brownie's first full time employee, took over ownership of the company from Mr. Brown in 1985. After recognizing a need in the boating industry for tank filling systems and unique diving concepts, Brownie's created two new product lines in addition to the well-known Brownie's Third Lung hookah diving units. These include Brownie's Tankfill, which designs and builds diving solutions from marinized tank filling compressors to custom diving support work stations and Brownie's Public Safety, which features diving products for rescue and safety professionals. In 2004, with an expanded catalog of products and services and over 30 years of experience, Brownie's Third Lung entered the public domain as a publicly traded company, stock symbol BWMG. Since then, a continued dedication to designing and building the world's finest and most innovative products has helped Brownie's become the industry leader behind the world's largest yacht-based diving systems.
