Sidcot is an independent day and boarding school for girls and boys aged 3-18 which encourages children to make a difference in the world through teaching them to live their lives adventurously, to question and to take action. We celebrate individuality and challenge our students to think with greater depth to reach a better understanding of themselves in relation to the world we live in. As a non-selective school, we are very proud that we achieve some of the strongest exam results in the South West and particularly stand out in Maths, Science and the Arts. The introduction of the IB to our Sixth Form curriculum in 2007 supports our core educational aim of delivering engaging, progressive education, and an aim that has driven our teaching since the foundation of Quaker education here in 1699. Sidcot excels at building students' self esteem which we believe in turn nurtures a love of learning. As an all-through, co-educational school, your child (or children) will benefit from a carefully planned curriculum, that is co-ordinated and integrated at key learning stages. They also settle without the anxiety and disruption of changing schools enabling them to concentrate on their studies and form long lasting friendships. Our students choose a wide range of occupations and nearly all go on to study at University, but crucially, we expect them to leave us as confident individuals with open minds and hearts, able to make a difference on whichever path they choose.
