English Language Studies and International Programs (ELSIP) has been providing English language courses on the University of Manitoba campus for over 40 years. Located in the Extended Education Complex, ELSIP offers English language programs for students who want to experience life on a Canadian university campus while connecting with the community. ELSIP includes: The Intensive English Program is for students from beginner to advanced levels interested in studying English at the University of Manitoba. The Certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language (CTESL) Program is for individuals seeking training in English Language teaching. Conversational Language Courses are for anyone interested in learning a foreign language or building on the knowledge of a previously learned one. Academic Test Preparation Programs (TOEFL iBT, IELTS, TOEIC) are for students wanting to improve their test-taking skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening. The Explore Program brings French speaking students from Quebec to the University of Manitoba for five weeks in the spring and summer for an English immersion experience. The Adult English as an Additional Language (EAL) program gives immigrants and refugees the English language skills needed to live and work in Manitoba.
